Not long ago, a friend of mine stated that he could not find a website designer that served small and medium businesses. Living in SF and Silicon Valley, I thought there must be an over abundance of providers, and chalked up his lack of success to a half-baked Google search. In an attempt to help lend a hand, I queried “San Francisco web development” and to my surprise was underwhelmed by the offerings, just as my friend had been.

There seemed to be two ends of the spectrum: a one-man show that claimed to build modern websites but in fact represented their own services with an out-dated webpage that was not aesthetically pleasing and lacked information. On the other side, were small agencies that promised robust design but came at a price in the tens-of-thousands of dollars.
